I love my skin...now.

I like to think of myself as a quick study. Usually I am. Occasionally, not so much.

About a year ago, I went to a spa with some of my sister's-in-law for a facial. The esthetian asked me about my skin, what kinds of products I use, if I had any special issues about my skin. I told her everything I could think of, including the fact that my skin tone is uneven and that makes buying makeup hard. I could find quite the right match.

She told me that I should be using products for sensitive skin, that my skin is quite sensitive. I never would have guessed. I don't break out much, never did. Anyway, after I left the spa that day I didn't give what she said another thought. I don't know why, I just didn't.

Until the day a few weeks later when I was at my local CVS store, looking to replace my moisturizer. That's when I saw it.

Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer. And right there on the label it said "Clinically proven to: visibly reduce redness soothe irritated or sensitive skin."

Needless to say, I took that little bottle home with me. And I've never let myself run out. It works beautifully. So well in fact that I now use the Aveeno Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser and the Aveeno Ultra-Calming Night Cream. My skin has never looked better.

I'm sure there are other products out there that do the same thing, but for the money (less than $8 for the Daily Moisturizer) I'm of the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' mind.

Like other products for sensitive skin, there are no perfumes so it doesn't have a really girly scent, but, hey, my skin loves it.

Two words...

I've got two words for you today: Thigh Highs. If you are like me and grew up in the era of pantyhose, you have got to try these! Not only do they make your legs look amazing, they make you feel ultra sexy, too. I was worried that they wouldn't stay up and I'd be spending the day trying to keep them in place, but my fears were totally unfounded. I've tried a couple different brands, but these Hanes Silk Reflections are my favorites (so far). The lace top is wider than the others I tried, meaning they are more comfortable than the brands that have only a narrow strip(prettier, too). They come in a variety of shades and retail for $8.50. I promise, just knowing you have them on will put a little extra swing in your step, not to mention your hips!

Why it's fun to be a girl...

Come on, ladies, you know it's true!! It is so fun to be a girl...and by girl, I mean female of any age. We got clothes, makeup, jewelry, boys, flirting with boys and just looking at boys.

We got shoes, perfume, playing with our hair, changing our style and changing our mind. We've got power, class, grace, creativity, ingenuity and passion. We are all that, and so much more.

That's what this blog is here to do: celebrate the joy of our femininity.

For example, check out these shoes. Are they not the cutest things? I got them at Kohl's about a month ago and they became my new favorites instantly. For about the first week practically every person I ran into, including a couple of men, commented on how cute they are and how great they made my legs look. Believe it or not they are actually comfortable, too. I'm on my feet alot at work and my feet are never achy at the end of the day. You gotta love it, right?
